John Dean formerly of the Nixon admin several books on the conservative wing of the republican party where he laid it out how deceptive this right wing of the party is. This is nothing like which Goldwater laid out in the 1960s. Dean is now an independent. Everybody should read his books - it's a trilogy of what, who, when, how of this extreme right wing stream of the republican party.
The conservatives create bogeymen/women then shoot holes in them. They are a smart clever bunch with the morals of an alley cat. Yes, there will be a lot of people votng for the repubs ticket simply because of gov palin and championed her for being a career woman. As you say, Daniella, they are/will celebrate her for what they've criticized and fought against for the past 35 years. But this time they will have a harder time, because folks are fed up and saying not this time with your lies, not this time....
