In the name of the Fire,
And the Light;
Praise the pure presence of fire
That burns from within
Without thought of time.
Systems for running our lives can be useful, but they can also enslave us. Time management can be the biggest trap of them all. It can creep into your psyche, and rather than freeing you up, it's calling all the shots.
Does this sound familiar?: The thought of having an unstructured day, even if it's on vacation, makes you break out in hives. Calling friends becomes part of your quarterly objectives. You feel guilty for taking time off from work to relax or play-- "work" can be anything from your day job to just cutting the lawn on the weekend. You schedule in spontaneity. You complete a task that wasn't on your to-do list, but you write it on your to-do list anyway just so you can have the satisfaction of crossing it out. Time management could be managing you.
When you're clear on what activates the joy within you, time management becomes a means to self-expression, not self-policing. And "making time" becomes an act of service so that
you can be your Creative Genius self for those around you.
