’Dapo Oyewole is a World Fellow at Yale University from Nigeria and the Executive Director of the Centre for African Policy & Peace Strategy (CAPPS), an independent London and Lagos-based policy think tank focused on governance, security and development issues in Africa. Oyewole holds a Bachelors degree in African Politics from the University of South Africa(UNISA); a Masters degree in Management of Non-governmental Organisations & Social Policy and Planning in Developing Countries from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and has also studied Conflict, Security and Development at King’s College, London as well as International Politics at Warwick University in Coventry, UK. He has functioned as a Consultant and Adviser to several international agencies and multilateral organisations. He has also contributed to several publications and is a regular commentator and analyst for numerous international news agencies such as CNN, BBC, RFI and the Financial Times on African and international affairs.

What do you think would happen if an African country decided to bomb a smaller and weaker one to smithereens over a territorial disagreement? Think about it. The army and air force of the stronger country do not only target military bases but zoom in on densely populated urban areas...
