The Mad Party Of Palin

A lot of people are going to be excommunicated. David Brooks, David Frum and Peggy Noonan are dead people in the Republican Party. The litmus test will be: where did you stand on Palin?

Dane Cook has this routine where he says that someday he wants to do something - and he doesn't know what - that makes the nearest person to him react by exclaiming "Are you out of your fucking mind?!"

Then the next thing he does - and again it's not known - will provoke the response, "You really ARE out of your fucking mind!"

I'm sorry to report to Mr. Cook that someone has beaten him to the punch, namely, former Bush aide Jim Nuzzo, who was quoted in the Daily Telegraph, "There's going to be a bloodbath. A lot of people are going to be excommunicated. David Brooks and David Frum and Peggy Noonan are dead people in the Republican Party. The litmus test will be: where did you stand on Palin?"

Are you out of your fucking mind?

He then goes on to say, "Win or lose, there is a ready made conservative candidate waiting in the wings. Sarah Palin is not the new Iain Duncan Smith, she is the new Ronald Reagan."

You really ARE out of your fucking mind!

David Brooks, Peggy Noonan, David Frum, Colin Powell, Scott McClellan, Ken Adelman, Matthew Dowd, the list goes on. All of them openly slammed John McCain and questioned his judgement in putting Sarah Palin on the ticket. But as the Republican presidential nominee, McCain had little choice in the matter. Palin had to be chosen in order to attract the one demographic that the Republican nominee needs in order to have a fighting chance: Republicans.

McCain likes to talk about how he's the only one of the two candidates who has ever stood up to his own party on any issue. Unfortunately for McCain, he has failed to stand up to his party on the one issue that matters the most: the future of the country. But it's kinda hard to blame him. How can you put Country First within a party that believes it is the country? That's what makes it so easy for them to blacklist anyone who shows any degree of objectivity that doesn't toe the party line. Brooks, Noonan, Powell, Dowd, et al aren't just non-Republicans now, they're non-Americans. They drank the Kool-Aid and fell under the spell of the most liberal candidate in the history of the US, one who will undoubtedly turn this country overnight into the Democratic People's Republic of America, complete with a pure socialist economy enforced by a military dictatorship that will unleash its entire nuclear arsenal on the homeland in the name of Allah.

Y'all really ARE out of your fucking minds!

It's truly amazing to see how overwhelming signs of an impending colossal defeat has lifted the curtain on the GOP. The voices of reason have now been purged and the party is cleansed of all impurities. The number of Real Americans has shrunk down to a core group of true believers who have chosen Sarah Palin as their face, their voice, and their mind, and they're encouraging her to stage a mutiny aboard the USS McCain. They've never had any use for John McCain. He didn't blow this election by going too negative. He blew it by not going negative enough. He had the Rev. Wright card and refused to play it. Palin wouldn't have done that. Palin wouldn't have pleaded for civility at her campaign rallies and drawn boos like McCain did. When that sweet, white-haired, scared old lady called Barack Obama an Arab, McCain contradicted her and defended Obama. What would Palin have done?

"I appreciate your concern, Honey, and I don't think this great country can afford a president that makes people like you feel so afraid!"

Palin has to have made the millionaire establishment feel like suckers. They've all paid for everything they have with their own hard-earned dollars. Sarah has the moose sense to spend her own money frugally and use the donor cash and the taxpayer cash to live high on the hog. That's how you get ahead in life! No wonder she hasn't called for Ted Stevens' resignation, as McCain has. Could it be that she doesn't think he's done anything wrong? She doesn't believe she has, after all. In America one is innocent until the entire appeals process has been completely exhausted and the pundits don't stick up for you anymore.

So here we are. After so many on the right have rejected the unprecedented negativity and blatant bullshit, the remaining hardliners have chosen a new flagship icon, Sarah Palin. The one who would govern to the right of Bush with less curiosity and an even stronger disdain for diplomacy. The one who, given the opportunity, would take cronyism and office abuse to new heights. The one who on one hand claims to be always proud of her country, and on the other hand supports, openly and without apology, a secessionist group that hates it. After all the intense efforts to manipulate the sources of public opinion in their favor have failed miserably, their eyes are now focused on 2012. Don't expect them to fade back into obscurity. They are now the new voices of dissent, and we have at least another four years of nonsense, albeit on the sidelines, to look forward to. And they'll seem more out of their fucking minds than they already do.
