Dave Bartlett
Bartlett is a "buildings whisperer" who uses data analysis to improve how buildings function and use less energy. He leads IBM's Smarter Buildings initiative, which helps clients create more green, cost-effective cities, campuses, corporate offices, commercial sites, hospitals and neighborhoods worldwide.

In nearly three decades at IBM, he has led teams in autonomic computing and software development, as well as international divisions. Bartlett attended the graduate school of Computer Science at the University of Minnesota, the graduate school of Business Administration at the University of North Carolina and holds an undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from the State University of New York.

In the U.S., buildings account for around 40 percent of our energy consumption. Yet, they waste 50 percent of that energy.

A depressing set of numbers? To me, it's an opportunity.

Because the technology we have today gives us the tools that we need not just to slash this crazy...
