Which way will the economy go next? Here's a hint: I just read that it will cost the average family in the North East U.S. an extra $2000 to heat their homes this coming winter.

So you tell me -- is the economy going to be better? Are people going to be having a grand old spendup this Christmas season?

The public in 2000 chose to "elect" oil company executives to run the government. Immediately the Enron scandal ensued, with the obvious collusion of the recently-elected administration.

Then the public chose to re-elect them in 2004.

So let's not hear any complaining from anyone who voted for these clowns. OK?

Oh, and by the way, the National Debt, which was getting paid down quite rapidly before Bush was elected, is now approaching $10 trillion. That's trillion with a 't'.

Update -- And the government run by oil company executives is refusing to allow solar power plants on government land in the Southwest. Are you surprised by that?

The government has to check to make sure that no bugs or snakes or weeds will be harmed by the installation of all this solar stuff. Could take years and then a National Desert Wildlife and Bug Preserve may be created.

If you don't like McCain's Enron Loophole driving speculation to new heights, and destroying the economy in the process...

Vote for Obama.

Obvious collusion? How? Bush's administration prosecuted and jailed Enron's senior leadership for the crimes they committed between 1996 and 2001 mostly while under the Clinton administration. Where was Clinton and Janet Reno while Enron was carrying out its fraud? Were they acting in connivance with the officials of Enron? According to your logic they must have been since this scam went on for at least 4 years under their leadership.

Anybody who voted for this clown, Clinton ought to be ashamed of himself.

Balance, is always the real issue. Now is the correct time to push for Solar in every capacity. No longer can we just sit on our collective asses and hope for something to happen! It is time for action from Government to get on board or get out of the way. Private business can make changes overnight, but Government is like turning an Aircraft carrier around, it takes forever, and we do not have forever anymore. The World's human population is exploding, religion is pushing for "NO' forms of birth control, energy, natural resources are being depleted as never before. Every action has a re-action. Will drilling for more fossil fuel be the answer? Hell no. Humanity has to re-invent where energy comes from. Clean, renewable energy. The Bush administration should be charged with treason, and or brought up on criminal war crimes as well. This Moron of a President has done more to bring down the American way of life than any terrorist could have ever hoped for!!!

You need to go read the comments on the Solar Story. You are totally wrong about what this is - it is a cumulative impact EIS because over a million acres OF OUR WILDERNESS will be permanently destroyed for these huge, destructive, wasteful "solar farms." if you want to help the environment, and stop Big Energy, you will come down on the side of improving our incentives for local PV and mini-wind and do everything you can to stop Big Energy from killing more of our wilderness.

It is insane on like 20 levels to kill off an ecosystem, since the resource is 90% as good in LA proper as it is in the Mojave - the only difference is CASH to the corporatocracy. We can have energy independence, or we can let our government and Big Energy re-entrench their monopoly on our land and on our dime. there is NO reason to kill off wilderness for this, none. not a single oil field or coal mine/plant will shut. if you think it will, then please do your homework. Not gonna happen.

Please lend your voice to the TRUE environmentalist, and the ONLY economically viable program. Generous feed-in tariffs, capital loans and much better tax treatment for residential and business producers NOW.

.
I would like to know why anybody who voted for Bush is unhappy.
.
Bush has done what has said he would do and he has governed by the philosophy of his party faction.
.
They got exactly what they bought. What is the issue?

IMHO the most overlooked news story in America is that we get the government we deserve.
