How Widespread Is Vote Fraud?

Republicans are accusing ACORN, Obama and Democrats in general of "massive vote fraud" based on problem registrations.

Here is the fact: "From 2002 to 2005 only one person was found guilty of registration fraud. Twenty people were found guilty of voting while ineligible and five people were found guilty of voting more than once."

That is the entire United States. 26 examples of vote fraud in four years. THIS is what Fox News, CNN, all of talk radio, all the right-wing blogs, etc. are going on about 24 hours a day right now -- 26 cases in four years.

It's not ACORN's role to register voters, and they don't do any of it.

ACORN's role is to gather completed registration forms, and to give them to the bodies mandated to receive said forms, determine if the info each contains is correct, and to register voters accordingly. That's a government body. Any false registrations or wrongful votes are on it's watch, not ACORN's.

ACORN isn't allowed--by law--to do that kind of work.

first, if they bother to look up the Minnite reference web site, they will confuse "Demos" with "Democrat," and call the source biased.

second, if they click on the link to The Progress Report, they will discount anything at that site because the word "progress" is in the name, and because one of the names sounds Arabic.

third, Drudge, Limbaugh, Hannity, Palin, et al, have told them voter fraud is widespread, isolated to the Democratic Party & its tools, and therefore is gospel.

fourth, because they cannot comprehend the difference between "voter registration fraud" and "voter fraud."

Whenever someone accuses ACORN of submitting potentially fraudulent voter registrations, how come the media never points out that it is illegal (fraud) for them to not turn them in. In fact, ACORN flags suspect applications before submitting them.
