Jocks 4 Justice (including the great Jim Brown) say:
SAVE TROY DAVIS!
Contact the Georgia Parole board to reconsider their decision denying Troy clemency.

Troy Davis is an African American man on who has been on Georgia's death row for the past 18 years, convicted of killing a white police officer named Mark McPhail. Now, after the Georgia Parole Board denied Troy clemency, he faces execution on September 23rd.
But something stinks of Southern Justice in the Peach state. The simple fact is that an innocent man could be careening toward a legal lynching.
HERE ARE UNDISPUTED FACTS:
1 - Troy's fingerprints didn't match those found at the crime scene
2 - There was no gun residue on Troy's fingers - in fact, no physical evidence at all connects Troy to this crime.
3 - So why is Troy on death row? Because of testimony from nine people who said that Troy pulled the trigger. But an astounding SEVEN of these nine people shave ince recanted their testimony in sworn affidavits, with several saying they were pressured to finger Troy by police (Of the two who haven't come forward, one is said to be the police's initial suspect, and the other testified that the shooter was left-handed, but Troy is right-handed).
These seven people were afraid. They were intimidated. But now they want to come forward and tell the truth in open court - that Troy Davis did not kill Mark McPhail. Yet the courts won't let a jury hear their compelling statements.
An innocent man will be put to death like a dog on September 23rd unless we stop it.
This is not justice. This is a lynching.
We the undersigned Jocks 4 Justice call upon the Governor, the Supreme Court, or any controlling authority, to stay Troy's execution. There are seven people ready to recant their testimony. For the sake of Troy, and the sake of justice, they deserve to be heard.

Justice must begin with a commitment to undue injustice. Give Troy Davis a fair trial. Georgia, let justice reign.
I'm praying so hard about this. The right thing must happen! I emailed yesterday. Please do what you can. Call and/or email.
I pray that those who are responsible for killing an innocent man never have peace in their lives!
I can't believe that we can allow this. What does the Governor risk in reopening this case

This is disgusting ...words cannot even express
AYE CARUMBA! Justice in the toilet again.
In any case, the death penalty is state-sanctioned and state-implemented murder. But in cases such as Troy Davis's-- and there are MANY--it is straight up evil.
Everytime I phoned the Georgia Parole Board, I got a recording that told me to call back later. I guess that they don't want to face the people that know that this is a travesty of justice. I had to settle for sending an email. I wish Troy Davis goodluck and I hope that some thing happens to stop the execution.
The murderous, unjust Georgia "Parole" Board should realize that the day may be soon coming when they will be held accountable for their racist twisting of their legal system.
Such a shame that an innocent man will go to his death just to satisfy a base sense of revenge.
This sounds like a real travesty of justice. The people who we're used to convicted him should be able to set him free as well.
You have kept Mr. Davis on death row for 18 years with no real evidence to convict him. Now there are folks that want to post evidence to FREE him. Give the man a chance, give the system a chance, and yes, GIVE peace a chance!
this is a tragedy... it's amazing to me how some people in this country think racism is non-existent .
THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE WITHDRAWN THEIR TESTIMONY MUST BE HEARD
Sure looks like Jim Crow is alive and well and that truth, justice and the American way are somewhat out of alignment.
This is atrocious. When are we gonna learn that the death penalty isn't the answer. If one person who was innocent was put to death, that is one person too much. The south has a history of violence against African Americans, that history is hard to unhinge from. There needs to be action!
