David Bohnett is a technology entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is head of the early stage technology fund, Baroda Ventures, and Chair of the David Bohnett Foundation.

Through the Foundation, grants totaling over $40m to date have been given to a wide range of organizations. Main areas of funding include The Fund for Los Angeles, supporting a broad spectrum of arts, educational and civic programs; LGBT-related programs; voting rights and registration initiatives; supporting research and public policies to reduce the toll of firearm violence; animal research and rights; and numerous California and national social justice programs, including David Bohnett Leadership Programs at UCLA’s School of Public Affairs, NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, the University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy and at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

Mr. Bohnett became Chairman of the Board of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association in October of 2008 and serves as a Trustee of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research.

He has spent his professional career in the technology and information services industry. He is the co-founder of GeoCities, an Internet based media and e-commerce company, and his current undertakings include serving as Chairman of OVGuide.com, the Internet's most comprehensive and up-to-the-minute guide to online video, including TV shows, movies, user-generated content and video games.

His many awards and distinctions include Los Angeles Business Journal's Technology Leader of the Year, Time Digital's Top 50 Cyber Elite, and Entrepreneur of the Year for Southern California.
