We all remember George W. Bush's quip that "if this were a dictatorship it'd be a hell of a lot easier, as long as I'm the dictator," but it appears that Sen. John McCain has similar aspirations.
Speaking before the Des Moines Register editorial board on the issue of the Wall Street bailout bill, McCain emphasized that the bill wasn't perfect, adding:
"If I were dictator, which I've always aspired to be, I would write it a little bit differently."
Watch the clip below:
Huh. Is that what Republicans mean when they praise Sen. McCain as a "strong leader"...?

McCain is unqualified for presidency of USA.
No more years to Republican lies and corruption.
Let's get rid of this disaster! !
Seriously. Can you imagine if Obama had made that little "quip" before an Editorial Board?!? Unbelieveable what this man gets a pass on.
Non-issue. Treating jokes as serious issues should be beneath us at this point when so much is at stake.
Joke or not, it doesn't look good. Especially when we live in the era of the sound bite. Obviously. no one in their right mind would make this statement in public view if they really meant it.
But you can't make the case that the media is out to get you with their "gotcha" journalism when you make stupid comments, regardless if the statements are true or not.
Wow.
