David Helfenbein provides political & new media advice to political figures and leaders and to those both in government and in the private sector. He has appeared on TV, radio and has been quoted in various publications and currently blogs for The Huffington Post has blogged for MSNBC's Morning Joe website.

David worked for Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton for over ten years in differing capacities. He was profiled about working for the Secretary in several newspapers, including The New York Times in 2008. From her first day in office as Secretary of State until the summer of 2010, he worked at the United State Department of State in the Obama administration. As a member of her Strategic Communications Team in the Bureau of Public Affairs, David coordinated new media for the Secretary of State. Prior to this, he briefly served both in a youth outreach position and as a Special Assistant to the Secretary in the Office of the White House Liaison. David has also worked in then-Senator Clinton's Senate office, at the Democratic National Convention, The Brookings Institution and briefly for MSNBC's Morning Joe television show.

David attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he double-majored in Political Science and Communication and Public Service. As a member of the Sphinx Senior Honor Society, he won the Cane Senior Honor Award upon graduation from Penn. He is currently obtaining a J.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis.
