David Kuo is the author of the national and New York Times bestselling book Tempting Faith. Since coming to Washington in 1990, he has worked with lots of conservative leaders (everyone from Jack Kemp, Jeane Kirkpatrick, and Bill Bennett to John Ashcroft, Ralph Reed, and Senator Bob Dole). Surprisingly to some he is not known to carry either rabies or a "get out of Gitmo free" card. He also served as Special Assistant to President George W. Bush and as deputy director of his Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. He tried and failed in an attempt to create a charity to fund faith-based non-profits and has pursued various other endeavors including a stint in the dotcom world and on the professional bass fishing circuit. He is also the Washington Editor for Beliefnet.com and writes a blog called J-Walking. In 2003, Good Morning America selected his first book, Dot.bomb, for its book club.

Obama, Polls, and Race

It now seems pretty clear that virtually all of the late polling on the Democratic side was wrong... very wrong. The last Rasmussen Report had Obama +7 over Clinton. CBS had him +7. USA Today had Obama +13 and CNN +10.

With more than 60% of...

Rudy's "Core Beliefs?"

Mayor Giuliani's abortion talk gets more and more muddled. For starters there was his debate performance - where he was for and against and for and against abortion (passionately). Then, last week he gave a major speech saying he was absolutely and totally for abortion rights:

The Luxury of Our Sensitivity

We are pretty freaking lucky when the person who said, "nappy-headed hos" on air can be the subject of so much attention. We are even luckier when people like Rev. Al Sharpton and Rev. Jesse Jackson can get so much much attention for attacking the man who said "nappy-headed hos."...

That Chocolate Jesus

Posted March 30, 2007 | 06:13 PM (EST)

The public won't see that "anatomically correct sculpture" of a fully naked chocolate Jesus with arms stretched wide as if on a cross. That's a shame.

I am generally pretty laid back about such things - artists should be able to do whatever it is that artists want to...
