"End Of The Line": Playlist for the Passing of the World's Oldest Man

Posted: 04/15/11 12:27 AM ET

Life is funny. Until a few seconds ago, I never even heard of Walter Breuning, and now somehow I feel his absence among us. See as I just read here on Huffington Post, Mr. Breuning died today in Great Falls, Montana at age 114. Before he left us, the world's oldest man gave the Associated Press some of the soundest advice that I've ever heard. Walter -- which I call him because I now feel like I knew him -- suggested that the rest of us relatively young ones embrace change, help one another, eat two meals a day, and that we not fear death since we have all been born to die. Truth be told, I may stick with three -- or possibly four -- meals a day. Still, I want to thank this remarkable railroad man from Montana for sharing his well-earned and well-aged wisdom before he moved on to that next station at the end of the line.
