"Give A Little Bit": The Sound Of Relief For The People of Japan

Posted: 03/14/11 03:14 AM ET

As a rule, I'm not a guy who tends to offer a lot of Japanese proverbs. Yet there's one I saw today that struck me as possibly being one of the secrets to life, so I thought I might share it with you all here. The proverb offers this advice: "Fall seven times, stand up eight." So if you've been watching all the news from Japan about the earthquake, the tsunami and its nightmarish aftermath the past few days, and you feel your heart breaking, then why not use that heart of yours to give what you can -- if you can -- to a reputable charity like @RedCross or the other organizations you can read about here on the Huffington Post? Let's help those who have lost so much to stand back up now. Here's my playlist for giving a helping hand. Please tell me, what's on yours?

Other Side of the World - Rainmakers

There's young people falling in love
Everywhere I go
Hope hides behind those angry eyes
Denim collars against the cold
I got a letter from Tokyo
A little Japanese girl I'll never know
She's eating pizza and singing Let My People Go
On the other side of the world.

Check out there 25th anniversary reunion and tour plans:
