No Joke, Bush and Cheney are Nuts

digg Share this on Facebook Huffpost - stumble reddit del.ico.us RSS

I think I have hit the perfect number of media people who agree with me that the two men in charge of whether or not we go to war with Iran are nuts. It seems that even Maureen Dowd today has assumed that the two are not even just playacting but truly the nut cases I have been saying they are. Is anyone named Pelosi listening to these accusations/diagnoses and deciding to change her mind about a number of things, including impeachment?

The table is now set Madame Speaker. It is fully arrayed with more evidence than you could possibly need. Perhaps if you were carrying around a small copy of the constitution in your pocket as Rep. Kucinich does, you too would be able to figure out just how to bring the articles of impeachment to the table and consider them. They are not a pretty sight as we all know and those of us unlucky enough to have had to watch the two previous versions of this drama, i.e., the Nixon case and the Clinton case, are very aware of what goes through us as a nation when we must consider removing from office the men who have been elected to represent our interests.

But then with a moment's thought we can ask ourselves a few questions about the real reasons so many of us are in favor of this (and a recent poll shows that more than 50% of Americans are in favor of impeaching the two of them). The first reasons out of my mouth would be the question of torture and the usurpation of constitutional law by a government that is quite unqualified to govern let alone truly understand what a democracy is. Next I would be looking at fraud because the misrepresentation of evidence to go to war was by and large one of the worst crimes this government could have committed and keeps committing no matter what evidence is presented to them that they are wrong. There are a host of other reasons that stretch from the outing of a covert CIA agent to the theft of the treasury and if we continued listing reasons we would run out of time to do the work to get them out of office through the legal means at our disposal.

I recommend that we call Madame Speaker and ask her to fulfill her responsibilities to the people of this country who were so proud of her when she became the first Madame Speaker. Of course, if she is not willing to fulfill this role as she has been asked to constitutionally, perhaps we should consider asking her to step down and allow someone else to fulfill the post to which she has been elected. It takes very little time to move places on a seating chart but it takes and will take generations to repair what this congress has allowed to happen over the past 7 years.

Don't any of them think it is in the interests of this country to get to the real work of governing rather than to be so busy filling up their own pockets with the chits they want to be owed? I do think most Americans are getting very tired of the wink-wink, oink-oink style of governing they are seeing. I don't want anything less than an aboveboard and open democracy that represents everyone no matter the size of their bank account. Most citizens would vote for that, I am sure.

Harry Reid knows very well that he can't deliver a single Repugnican vote in the Senate to convict Emperor Bush or Darth Cheney. If Nancy Pelosi were to initiate impeachment, the ultimate result would be just another loss for the Losercrats.

One problem Ms Pelosi is third in line, if they tried to do it would be spun as an attempt to seize power. Although it would be fun to watch Rush and Bill heads explode.

Deborah--

I understand greed. I understand a lust for power. I understand ego. And I understand many kinds of neuroses and insanity.

What I don't understand is the drive to total domination, when a person or a group already has the power to shape the world and all the money they could ever spend.

They're on top, they won, and everybody knows it. Why the desperate acts to literally crush and demoralize an entire nation or nations?

In answer to your question and others that follow:

The actions of Bush & Cheney are so difficult for reasoning, fact-based people to understand because no logic or reason is involved in their motivations, decisions, and policymaking.

And no, they're not crazy, either, at least not in the clinical sense.

They're on a Mission from God.

As Maya Angelou has said, "When people tell you who they are [over and over and over], believe them".

At some point, after what, nearly 8 yrs of madness, do you think Americans will finally believe these guys when they say they put God and doing God's will above EVERYTHING?

The reference to Nixon reminded me of how appalled the average person was (and the media and Congress, as well) with the crimes the Nixon Adminstration committed during the 1972 presidential campaign. The current administration has stolen two elections with no consequences and virtually no outcry from anyone. Are they nuts or just convinced they can get away with anything?

I am beginning to think the warrant-less wiretapping was actually used to 'get the goods" on key democrats. Logical reasons for their behavior, other than as a result of coercion, are very difficult to identify.

I agree. Another possibility is that key Democrats are worried about a replay of the anthrax sent to 2 key democrats who weren't going to bite on passing the Patriot Act. As we now know, that strain of anthrax came from a CIA lab.

Other than that, I can think of no sane reason NOT to seek impeachment. The public supports it. I would bet that privately a large enough majority in Congress exists to make it happen. One great thing that would result is getting all the dirty tricks out and outright criminal acts out in the public. I would think that would force our Ministry of Truth (the MSM) to actually report it for a change.

But Nancy keeps coming up with really lame reasons not to go forward. One time she says she doesn't want to distract the country from important business that needs to go forward in Congress. But as is very apparent to everyone but her, no important business is going to get past the poison veto pen of our Idiot in Chief.

Another reason I saw her mention in another interview is that she isn't aware of any impeachable offenses. That one is really a laugher! I could easily list 4 or 5 without having to even think about it. There have also been a couple of very good books that have laid out an entire case for impeachment along with proof and articles already written up for her. She would already have a blueprint laid out.

So I can see no logical reason not to go forward. That only leaves me with the speculation that something nasty is going on behind the scenes that we aren't aware of.

Yes, they are nuts, and very scary too. I'm holding my breath until they're out of the white house in 2009.

The new team should exorcise and desinfect the place. After that, let's have a big party, dancing and kissing in the streets like in 1945. And please, let's elect someone with a brain for a change.

Not playing with a full deck, a few bricks short of a full load, lights are on but nobody's home, out to lunch, toys in the attic... But you know when you think about it aren't they really a lot like the parody of bond villans who have a mad plan to blow up the world. Jeez they really are nuts aren't they?

They are movie villains and nuts, but to use Dowd's Dr Strangelove reference, I think Cheney is like Jack D. Ripper trying to save our precious fluids.

Ms Emin, you are absolutely correct in your reasoning. But I don't think anything will change, even if the Dems take the White House. The circumvention of the Constitution will remain, as will the swollen and grotesque power of the Executive Branch. This will be aided by the Supreme Court for years to come. Cheney found the perfect beard in Bush, and his objectives have been largely met. This country is finished as a free and open democracy.

Pelosi is the Neville Chamberlain of our dying republic.

There are no Winston Churchills in sight.
