Deisy Rolon is 21 years old and living in a transitional living program in Los Angeles, California. Deisy is currently working at the Los Angeles Conservation Corps doing graffiti removal. Since the age of six, Deisy has been in and out of foster care and in numerous placements throughout Los Angeles County. Although her time in foster care was difficult she has always maintained a positive attitude. “I don’t like letting the past dictate my future” is her motto and mantra.

Deisy has aspirations of becoming a model and actress in addition to working in the fashion industry. She would also like to become a foster parent and run her own daycare for children who are also in foster care. She hopes to study psychology, which she believes will help her better understand the emotional needs of youth that she will work with in the future. “I like to work hands on with youth because I want to make a difference in my community.”

Deisy enjoys public speaking and talking to people about her personal life experiences with the hope that this will help improve the situation for other foster youth.
