The terrorists would do well not to underestimate a President Hillary Clinton and misjudge her commitment to wage war on global terror. We all know that Cheney/bush has totally bungled the US's leadership in defeating world-wide terror. Indeed, their policies have promoted a proliferation of new terrorists all around the World and a deepening hatred for the US from within the Muslim World. The next president, Mrs. Clinton or anyone else, is going to have to come to terms with this reality. For the next president of the US, the unresolved Israeli/Palestinian situation should be the top item in any strategy to contain and defeat global terror.

What always amazes me is the neo-con movement's insistence on using the "terrorists like Democrats" argument as a way of saying that anyone who votes for a Democrat is voting for terrorism. Well, no. The entire argument is relevant only if we actually care whether terrorists like us or don't, and that's really not the issue here. It doesn't matter who the terrorists like, because they don't pick who they bomb or decide what to do based on a popularity contest. Their goal is far more simple even than that. They want to rule the world based on their radical religious beliefs. Period.

As an American, I don't care whether a terrorist leader speaks in favor of Hillary or in opposition to Rudy. I don't care whether the terrorists like the idea of troop withdrawal or not. I want my country's leaders and decision-makers to be thinking about what's in the best interets of Americans.

However, I like your idea of doing what's in the best interest of Americans. Somehow I don't think it's in my best interest to be throwing $100 billion/year down a rathole. I was against attacking Iraq in 2003 and have opposed this war ever since. I'm opposed to attacking Iran for many of the same reasons. The bottom line is that our excessive spending on the military actually endangers our national security because it will eventually bankrupt us.

There is a poll to inform us but who conducts the polling and how selective is the poll in regard to the polled. There is a pole, used for vaulting and I believe that many poles are used in polling. That pole permits the poller to vault over many answers they wish to exclude. I don't take polls seriously because you never know what input has been slipped in by this administraion. They have used phoney reporters and false figures to fool the public and the Congress too many times. I am sure of one thing. Hillary is better than Bush on his best day.
