These are some of the ridiculous numbers we're going to keep seeing until we have campaign finance reform like every other developed country. Go John Edwards!!!! (who BTW--did exceptionally well despite the fact that he was outspent 6-1 by Obama and 5-1 by Clinton).

WHAT A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!! JUST THINK WHAT OR HOW MANY WOULD BE BENEFITED FROM THE $$$ WASTED ON CAMPAIGNING....IT'S GOING OVERBOARD. IS IT ALL NECESSARY? WHY DO WE HAVE TO LISTEN TO REPETITIVE BLATHER OVER AND OVER AGAIN.......DEBATE QUESTIONS ARE "CONTROLLED".."SELECTED". WE'VE SEEN IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN....ENOUGH IS ENOUGH...THERE SHOULD BE SOME MORE REALIZTIC WAY TO CAMPAIGN W/O WASTING ALL THE DOUGH!!!

So the "underdog" Obama actually spent more money and had more offices than Clinton, in addition to still being on his neverending media honeymoon and back room deals with second tier candidates. But of course it was hope and change that brought the voters out.

How can anyone say that money doesn't influence politics?

Thanks, Denise, for that insighful look at the Iowa caucus. Iowa's influence is still the most powerful force in presidential politics. It defies and flies in the face of the status-quo, big city people and big city issues defining the rest of us. Iowa gets to vet and examine the field and determine the viability for the rest of the country. And Iowa did its job again. Give them credit because they deserve it.

According to people who write in to Black Box Voting, the Republicans evidently had some strange things going on with their vote count.
1. Figures for Guiliani were changed three times and he ended up with fewer votes than he had previously.
2. The Republicans have at least 65 precincts who they say had no voters.
3. Supposedly Ted Gunderson, former FBI Division Chief sent a private investigator and found irregularities against Ron Paul.
If these are true, I don't know how to check these out, then the Republican Party will even try to hurt their own.

Thanks

Unemployment just had the biggest spike in nearly 10 years and these bozos are dropping millions on mailers that end up in a damn landfill. Since when did ringing doorbells become such an honorable fete?

Send all those staffers down to Louisiana and let them do something really worthwhile for the nation, like help restore homes instead of knocking on them.

What a waste! The media end up profiting and we get left with a can full of crap. And these are our environmental saviors. Go green, indeed. The only green they know is in their wallets. I can't wait for Edwards to come knocking at my door!
