The man responsible for Vogue editor Anna Wintour's signature helmet bob is a Malaysian-born Londoner named -- wait for it -- Charlie Chan. Even though he's a successful hairstylist, coiffing the likes of Wintour, Iman, and Simon Cowell, his hardass Asian mother would like him to get a better gig.
Although Chan has tried to get Wintour to change her hair in the past, he admits that the Devil Wears the Bob best.
From the New Strait Times:
"My mother doesn't like me to work with my hands. Failing to work in ophthalmology, she would rather that I become a politician. She prefers people to work for me, not the other way around," says Charlie, as he expertly snips at the fringe of a client.
"(T)he bob suits her. It suits a certain face. It works best on a thin, Oriental face, a slim person."
We're going to have to forgive him for the use of the word "Oriental," since Chan's a Brit, but Anna having an Asian face? We just don't see it.

Sounds like Charlie Chan needs glasses.
Anna Wintour having an "Asian" face? I don't see it, either.
