DJ Cook
DJ Cook graduated with B.A. in Business Economics from UCSB in 2000. After bouncing around from one job to the next, which included stints in the film and television industry, renewable wind energy and structured settlement annuities, he decided to pursue his passion of becoming a high school history teacher. DJ entered graduate school in 2006 with the "help" of $40,000 worth of student loans. In 2007 he earned his teaching credential and in 2009 his Master's Degree in Education. In 2014, DJ has now worked for four different high schools and has been laid off six out of the seven years he has been an educator. As the prospects of staying employed continue to diminish with each passing year, he is now facing the reality that at the age of 35 he will probably have to look for a new career in the middle of the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, all while trying to pay off a $40,000 debt that cannot be wiped away with bankruptcy.
