Grand Entrance Music

Posted: 08/30/2012 2:37 pm

Making the grand entrance is a critical transition point in the wedding day; not only does it symbolize a new chapter of life for the newlyweds, it also signals the start of the wedding celebration and really sets the tone for the night. With that in mind, the goal should be to find songs that are fun, upbeat, well-known and reflective of your personalities. While choosing a romantic song is always a good option given the sentiment of the day, you may be better off bounding in to the beat of a high energy song to get the party started! And don't forget to make it fun for your bridal party -- after all, they are the ones you chose to support you on this momentous occasion so pick songs that they'll be sure to enjoy.

Like all of the other personalized details of your big day, there is no wrong way to make your debut as husband and wife. Just remember, it's important to keep the song selections fun and upbeat. It's the start of your big night so kick it off with a bang and choose a track that both speaks to your personality AND gets everyone as excited as possible for the joyous celebration.

Here are some of my favorite entrance songs from all different genres:

Loading Slideshow...
  • "Celebration" - Kool & The Gang

This classic is the perfect way to set the celebratory mood.

  • "September" - Earth Wind & Fire

"Ba-de-yah!" Here comes the bridal party!

  • "One More Time" - Daft Punk

If music's got you feeling so free, then start the celebration with this.

  • "Forever" - Chris Brown

Forever...and ever....and ever. This R&B popstar has all the right lyrics for an unforgettable entrance.

  • "Let's Get It Started" - Black Eyed Peas

This Peas jam is an oldie but goodie and will get your bridesmaids and groomsmen "runnin' runnin', and runnin' runnin'" onto the dance floor!

  • "Lovely Day" - Bill Withers

A light and lovely classic, this entrance song will put smiles on everyone's faces.

  • "Crazy In Love" - Jay- Z ft Beyonce

If you want to shake it on your intros, do like the King and Queen of hip hop do and show your love to all your guests.

  • "Sexy and I know It" - LMFAO

The sillier of the LMFAO pop gems, wiggle wiggle wiggle to this one and show off your confidence as the new Mr. and Mrs.

  • "Bring 'Em Out" - T.I. ft Jay-Z

Everyone's waiting to see you as the - hip-hop hooray with these two legends as your bridal party brings you out!

  • "Walkin' on Sunshine" - Katrina and the Waves

Remember this one? It's a retro favorite and upbeat crowd pleaser that sends positive vibes.

  • "Eye of the Tiger" - Survivor

Leave out the lyrics and play the instrumental build on this one for a dramatic spin that creates the right momentum as you walk into the reception.

  • "At Last" - Etta James

    Two words: Etta. James.

  • "We Are Family" - Sister Sledge

If you have lots of family in your bridal party, this one is the perfect entrance song to bring everyone together.

  • "Another One Bites the Dust" - Queen

For the more ironic and humorous couple, this may be the perfect way to proclaim you're off the market.

  • "I Wanna Hold your Hand" - The Beatles

There is nothing more classic than the Fab Four. Hold the hand of the one you love as your family cheers you on.

  • "I Feel Good" - James Brown

A song with soul and lyrics which are the perfect fit for the perfect moment.

  • "Beautiful Day" - U2
