Donald Ray Pollock is the author of KNOCKEMSTIFF (Doubleday, 2008), which is also the name of the place where he grew up in southern Ohio. He worked in the Mead paper mill for 32 years before quitting to become a writer. He is currently enrolled in the MFA program at Ohio State University and at work on a novel.
