It is incomprehensible to me that Mrs. Clinton can seriously be touting the notion, with the support of the punditocracy of CNN and Fox, that she is leading in the popular vote and should therefore be seriously considered as the most electable candidate in the November election. She's including those who voted for her in Florida and Michigan's name recognition ballot saying that to exclude them would be to disenfranchise them. What about the Democrats in Alaska, American Samoa, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Dakota, Nebraska, Washington, Hawaii and Wyoming who did not cast ballots because they were playing by the pledged delegates playbook and voted by caucus. What about them? Certainly if the rules are going to be changed and judgment is based on the 'popular' vote those voters in the eleven caucus states and Samoa will be disenfranchised. What about them?
And what about us? What about the American people? Haven't we had enough of Mrs. Clinton's mad antics in her pursuit of the realization of venal personal ambition; her 'say anything, do anything, no matter what' effort to manipulate our all too willing media to gull this country's populace into believing that her wretched illegitimacy is indeed legitimate. How much mendacity do we have to suffer, how much brazenness do we have to swallow before someone, anyone, has the decency, the common sense, to relieve us of this terrible trifle, this pathetic madness?

That's the only DONALD I respect. Besides my cousin with the same name.
Billy's desperation pathetic, but please people, take not of CNN and their doggy-paddling as well.
Not only is Mrs. Clinton...
FOX was already stuffed and on my mantle, but CNN will no longer grace my television after this particular race is complete. For they information ministry of the CLINTON administration and should be shown, by 'the people', the exit or show us (oh God, I can't help it)...
....A CHANGE.
I am so old I can remember when CNN was a news organization rather than a speculation enterprise populated by talking heads repeating the same claptrap over and over.
Blitzer continually eggs on these time wasters.
Interesting post over at abcnews' comments:
..... I can't believe how stupid a lot of Democrats are, you will never win the White House. We will win in 2012 also (please I hope she runs again) because half the party won't vote for her, she will never win the White House now, she made herself look insane. The great right wing conspiracy has beaten the Clintons.
"Yeah I love it, not only did the CLinton's lose but they will be blamed for the Dems losing in November and be blamed for the overturn of Roe v. Wade. HAHAHA We orchestrated the whole thing, we kept her in the race, she won Ind and Tex and a few other states because of us, dragging it out, splitting the party and making her loss even more bitter. You Dems are such losers.
If she goes Ind, she will be even more embarrassed because she will come in third and be an outcast. The CLinton's are finally dead. Ding dong the witch is dead oops mispelling
I would love to see the baby killing law overturned and even the feminists blame Hillary. There name is mud, hated by Republicans and Independants and now over half the Democrats. It is like Christmas morn."
My right-leaning friends and coworkers engaged in "Operation Chaos". My bosses did the same. In Wisconsin (in my circle anyway) it seemed only logical to vote for Hillary if you were Republican. McCain had it all but sown up by that time and it was a premise that Hillary would be easier to beat than Obama.
I can't believe Republicans are always stupid: The Democrats will win the White House AGAIN --like they won in 1992, and again in 2000 (had it not been for vote tampering/ fraudulenc e; crimes committed by Republican minions of the Bush family and the no longer supreme Supreme court, and again in 2004 ,had it not been for the Diebold Corporation trading fraudulent crimes in Ohio (vote tampering via easily manipulated Windows based voting machines that leave no paper trail of actual votes. George W. Bush could not win any election fairly and apparently no one is more aware of it than him judging by his actions in both elections. If it weren't for cheating, stealing , and lying -- and being born to a wealthy family (whose fortune was made in the opium trade) -- George W. Bush would never have gotten past grade school. If he'd had to live by his wits on the street he would have been dead years ago -- just think how many people would be alive today as a result.
Hillary Clinton, the final curtain
For the mighty Clintons, losing power is not an easy thing to accept. Furthermore, losing power to an inexperienced Black man named Barack Obama from the south side of Chicago is even harder to fathom.
It’s fascinating to observe Hillary desperately clinging on to stage trappings as the lights fade and the curtains draw signaling the end of her performance and the death of an unbridled ambition.
Hillary clearly is in shock and in denial to realize that her dream of becoming president has all but fizzled pending the last rite primaries that will be performed in South Dakota and Montana.
Also gone up in smoke is the prospect of Hillary becoming the Queen pin of the Democratic Party and extending the stranglehold the Clinton machine has on the D party. Thank goodness that Bill and the old boys have been stopped. Good riddance.
Clearly, Hillary failed on day one to be an effective president of her campaign. She staged a poorly conceptualized and ill executed campaign. She grossly underestimated the competition and failed to develop a comprehensive plan that covered all contingencies including adequate financing. Hillary, President of the USA? Wrong.
The rules committee rendered a verdict that was extremely generous to Hillary. She should now accept reality and graciously bow out because the game is over. It’s now time to wave goodbye to the old guard and usher in the new.
Wordtodawise
From the south side of Chicago? He's from Hawaii. Don't forget the arugula comment.
She lost a whole lot more than the primary in the process of being in it to win it. She revealed herself to be the dishonorable person that I now suspect she always has been. I cannot find one good thing to say about her after all she has pulled. Good riddance to the triumvirate tag team of Bill the hot headed, finger wagging, race baiter, Chelsea the, I ducked sniper fire too, and Hillary the bi polar, multiple personality, caustic, hysterical woman.
I am glad that I came across this post. Sutherland 's words were so eloquent and to the point. How much longer are we going to have to put up with Hilary Clinton's sham? The race is over.
I agree totally.
The level of intellectual dishonesty involved in claiming she's won the popular vote is shocking. One can't help but to assume her presidency would be run in the same way.
If the "Whitey Tape" really comes out tomorrow it will not matter.
You've been posting that all over this site. If there is a tape, it had better be real, because people can tell a fake. Oh yeah, that's right, if they had something they wouldn't have tried to peddle poor Father Phleger on us.
Still haven't figured out yet that Hillary is living a pipe dream? Still don't realize that behind every silly woman is a silly man, in this case Bill Clinton, who not only can't keep his fly zipped but his lips pressed firmly together? Why shouldn't Fox or others report what is clearly an entertaining albeit bizarre story? Clinton is touting this nonsense because she believes her own press, which comes from her own hired boot lickers.
I'm an Obama guy but you too should save the vilification for the GOP.
Do exacerbate the anger within the party before the general election.
Good advice. Hope to hear more of the same soon.
Exactly!!
It is incomprehensible that anyone has allowed her to make this claim without laughing her out of the race.
I have heard no one just flat out say it is nonsense. Thank you for doing that!
It is not an idea that anyone should consider. It will end up in the history books as though it is a meaningful statistic.
Since the media won't do it, the Democratic Party should publicly clarify her misstatements and misinformation and and crazy claims.
Mr. Sutherland .... GREAT post! Thanks.
Hillary will not do anything to win. If that were the case there would be 100s of ads with Rev. Wright in them.
you mean there weren't
That's only because there was no money for them.
You hit the nail on the head Hawkeye. Hillary has greatly damaged if not destroyed her reputation. Just the damn illogical arguments she incessantly runs up the flagpole which require Einstein type mental gymnastics to compute are enough to make me think I dropped twenty hits of acid. Mr. Sutherland, is it bad of me to wish she is invaded by a body snatcher? The alternate Hillary has got to be better than this one.
I got your math right here!!!

Disgusted…I am absolutely disgusted with this most unscrupulous and disingenuous woman. She has run her campaign amuck and is poised to do the same to the party, and if allowed to, the country. I never thought that I would be in agreement with Ann Coulter, Hannity, Limbaugh and others but they were right about Hillary. Hillary spews nothing but lies and poison and her fangs are filled with venom. Perhaps this is why so many super delegates are afraid to step up to her. We need a real “salt water crocodile” who is not afraid to finally step up to the Clintons and tell them like it is!!!! I understand that the party has to exercise restraint in order to maintain the resemblance of a fair due process but enough with this madness already. After Tuesday its time to kick this bitch out!!!!!
I will be disgusted with the Democratic Party’s lack of backbone if this does not occur.
Independents for Obama in 08
So true! I cannot help but imagine what a wonderful play Mr. Shakespeare could have written about this abomination.
!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
"Any madness I ever yet beheld seem'd but tameness, civility, and patience to this her distemper she is in now."
Lord help us!!!!!!!!
Very good article - but really - you are asking Hillary and Bill to be logical about their arguments and for them to make coherent arguments that actually stand up to scrutiny.
Simply reviewing Hillary's multiple answers to the question of Illegals getting a Drivers License in New York during the debate tells us all we need to know - Hillary will say anything - literally anything at all to get what she wants and there is no room for logic or for framing a coherent platform.
Perhaps her inability to form a comprehensive and coherent platform is what has brought her from the almost certain victory to losing the nomination in such a short time frame.
Thank you Mr. Sutherland! So breviloquent.
Sorry--The DNC made a decision re Mi + Fla. The right assumption is then that you add in their votes to the popular vote.
This isn't an election, it's a party nomination process. Popular vote isn't a deciding factor, delegates are.
And I don't buy the Clinton math anyway. You can't have a popular vote when there are caucus states, nor can you have a popular vote when only one of the main candidates is on the ballot.
Sorry--caucuses aren't democratic. You have 15,000 caucus out of 1 million voters.
Talk about brainwashing.
