We're thrilled to announce the first installment in a series of artist videos called "STUDIO VISIT with Art Production Fund". In our professional and personal lives we are surrounded by artists and art. This series brings viewers along for a glimpse of what we see: an unadulterated look into the creative process of contemporary masters and emerging talents at the beginning of this millennium.
Marilyn Minter is the perfect subject for our pilot session because of her beautifully complex interior, both in mind and space. This short dynamic segment dives deep into her work, explores her objects of desire, contemplates unexpected inspiration and considers the commitment it takes to become an extraordinary artist.
Of all the mediums our ideal platform for this video series is the internet, where content is immediate and constant. The exceptional opportunity that the Huffpostarts/AOL team offers to produce vibrant material with tremendous outreach makes them the idea partner. We both are art bloggers for the site and we know this audience wants to encounter alternative points of view and understand the inherent intensities in making, exhibiting, and just being an artist in today's world. We examine the difficulties along with the epiphanies.
APF's mission is to bring the important messages found in contemporary art out into the public where people live and work. By offering viewers an insider's tour into the studios of the visionaries we are passionate about, "STUDIO VISIT" does just that. We will continue to take you with us behind the scenes on studio visits into 2012. So stay tuned...
