America didn't just repeat as producers of the world's worst beer, we increased our margin of victory by 7 points (in a new survey of 3,400 respondents from 99 countries). Hard to say if American beer is getting worse, or the rest of the world's beer production is improving. Or, perhaps our reputation is simply spreading. As the long-standing joke goes: What does American beer and making love in a canoe have in common? Both are amazingly close to water.

Worst Beer in America - Bad Beer List - Esquire
Peroni is simply pretty damn good. A couple of others not too bad.
But the UK? Home of Newcastle Brown Ale and Guinness Stout? What are those 3% thinking?
The UK should not have gotten a single vote for worst. And believe me, I am no UK fan at all. It hurts me to say it - LOL
Many beers we see in America rarely get drank overseas - they've got a variety of beer that would blow your mind, and probably some that suck. Haha, do you think Australians are being judged on Fosters? Remember, this survey was taken from 99 countries.
delicious
In Italy next week. I'll be drinking wine there.
Lets get to American beer. Whatever they put in those cans of bud is not beer. Lets call it slightly yeasty water. Undrinkable. And I will go without a beer if that's all they're serving. Same for coors and miller.
There are many excellent smaller breweries in the states, but I guess we're talking about the big labels.
What I've discovered is that the imported beers we get in the states are not the same as you find in the country of origin.
Spent some time in Austria and drank Gosser like a baby on his mother's teat. Thrilled to discover that I could get it back home. Guess what? It wasn't the same. It was good. A bit watered down. And I wondered if they were brewing it here and slapping the labels on or exporting a special "budweisered" brew just for us?
Damn, I'm rambling about beer. Sorry. Time to go. Getting thirsty.
You're exactly right. Plus, we don't get most of the beers you see abroad. Just as the US is known across the pond for Budweiser and Miller, Italy is known here for Peroni, the Netherlands for Amstel, Australia for Fosters, etc etc. Good rant. I'll still drink Coors or Bud if it's cheap, because I'm not quite a beer snob (beerophile?) yet.
I'm sure the Little Gennies were not representive of good beer. But the one that really gave definition to the term panther piss was Rupert's Knickerbocker. I once had a bottle of the stuff that wasn't only green in terms of its not having aged enough. It was freaking GREEN. And it wasn't St. Patrick's Day.
Not at all surprised the US gets such low marks for beer.
The best I've had is from Belgium and the Czech Republic.
You can never go wrong with NewCastle and if you are in the mood a Guinness.
My theory is actually that UK beer is as good as the best because it can be drunk at room temp. Traditional Brits don't chill the beer so much as the rest of the world.
If you are going to drink room temp beer, it better be good. I love NewCastle.
I personally prefer Rainier or Olympia when it comes to cheap swill, unfortunately most people outside the Northwest don't know what I'm talking about.
But here's one of the best, San Miguel beer from the Philippines.

Always Skunky when I've had them
Mexico has tons of great "bad" beer, Sol, Corona, Tecate, etc. I love a weak Mexican beer with some salt and lime, and this is coming from a guy who prefers Porters and Stouts!
Yes it is.
Are you sure you know what Heineken is?
Heiniken, Red Stripe and American major brews are similar in style. They just make you feel better because you're paying more.
