Dutch-born beauty Doutzen Kroes leaves nothing to chance. Instead, she discovered herself by taking snapshots and sending them to Amsterdam’s Paparazzi Model Management. This small-town girl, moved to New York and quickly graced 17 international editions of Vogue , 9 covers of Elle, 3 covers of Numéro, and the covers of Time, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Glamour, W, and Avantgarde.

Called out as "a rising star" by Style.com and Model of the Year by Vogue.com in 2005, Doutzen found herself rocketing toward stardom. She signed a contract with global beauty brand L'Oréal Paris and replaced Christy Turlington as the face of Calvin Klein Eternity fragrance, which led to her being ranked one of Forbes' highest paid models since 2007. She began her relationship with Victoria's Secret when she walked in their annual nationally televised runway shows, before gaining the title of an Angel.

Doutzen has worked with countless renowned photographers such as Steven Meisel, Peter Lindbergh, Patrick Demarchelier, and Mario Testino, who “was amazed by her energy, beauty, and intelligence”. She has been the face of high fashion brands such as Valentino, Gucci, and Calvin Klein White Label and is currently the face of Blumarine. Doutzen starred in a documentary following her during Milan Fashion Week, produced by Piter Claus, which won the Best Regional Documentary at the prestigious NL awards.

Following in her parents footsteps, who met on the ice, Doutzen speed skated competitively. A focused and determined international competitor, the healthy lifestyle made it easy to transition into becoming a model.

Believing that beauty and elegance come from inside, Doutzen nourishes her inner beauty with continued charitable endeavors. She is already involved with the World Wildlife Fund (www.worldwildlife.org) and Dance4life (www.dance4life.com). In August 2009, Doutzen became an ambassador for dance4life, when she visited a school in Tanzania with photographer Annelies Damen to experience dance4life first-hand.

Doutzen Kroes recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award, part of the Dutch Model Awards, in Amsterdam for her outstanding accomplishments at her age.
