Seth Pollak is the Letters and Science Distinguished Professor of Psychology and Professor of Pediatrics, Anthropology, and Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he is also an investigator at the Waisman Center for Human Development.

He holds a dual Ph.D. in brain and cognitive sciences and in child clinical psychology. Dr. Pollak’s research focuses on children’s brain and behavioral development, with particular focus on emotions and social behavior. It is on this topic that he was interviewed for the upcoming PBS series, This Emotional Life (airing January 4-6).

Dr. Pollak has been the recipient of a National Institute of Mental Health fellowship in developmental psychopathology, the National Down Syndrome Society’s Scientific Scholar Award, the Boyd-McCandless Award for Distinguished Contributions to Child Development, and the American Psychological Association’s Distinguished Early Career Award. He was recently elected as a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and his research is supported by the U.S. National Institutes of Health.
