Food And The Balancing Act

People often think eating healthy is an all or nothing deal. Grab a slice of pizza and you've already blown it, so why not go for the Chunky Monkey? Sometimes they avoid even starting a healthy food plan out of fear that they can't stick to it. Or that they'll feel hungry and deprived.

This week on The Rachel Ray Show, I revealed some exciting secrets for rescuing your diet when you cheat. Each of these healthy foods counters the effects of a less-than-healthy food and gets you back on track. Balance is the key and natural foods perform an amazing balancing act. Every bite you take offers a new chance to feel and look fantastic.

So, you just can't resist that bag of corn chips and afterwards you end up feeling worn out. Here's why: those chips are loaded with refined table salt. Two of the most important things needed to create cellular energy are sodium and potassium. If salt is refined (as in table salt) it becomes way too high in the sodium chloride molecule. When you eat the chips, the level of sodium inside the cell also becomes way too high. Now you have a very dangerous imbalance that can drain your energy.

So to help correct that balance we can bring a healthy food to the rescue. Enter the delicious avocado. The beautiful thing about the avocado is it has healthy fats that are great for your skin and its also loaded with fiber. Here's the kicker: just half an avocado contains 600 milligrams of potassium. Voila! You've just helped re-balance the energy-producing sodium and potassium in your cells.

Your body is a perfect machine that was made to keep you healthy. Considering the diet and lifestyle 99% of us were raised on, we wouldn't be alive today if nature didn't provide safety nets. Your body is eager to help you recover if you don't panic and never give up! Give it a chance to do its job and try these miraculous food tricks. When you see how great you can feel using your own personal food pharmacy you'll be hooked on health for LIFE!

Today on The Montel Williams Show, Dr. Manny Alvarez and I are on the "Ask the Expert" segment where we field audience questions on important health issues. I invite readers to check out these segments on Rachel and Montel and share your own thoughts and personal experiences. When it comes to your health, no one has a more important voice than you.

If you have ever seen Dr. Tim Brantley you immediately know that he lives by his words.
However, he leaves room for the rest of us!
When he was in private practice he was totally
present and a healer to many famous people whom
he would really or never mention.
Buy his book, adjust your way of life and let's keep
his wisdom avaiable to the masses.
He is humble and adorable!

This is the kind of doctor I want! Wouldn't we all much rather use natural food remedies than run for medicine? Why don't medical doctors ask what we eat before grabbing their pen to write a prescription? Look at the labels on any drug - they can kill us when foods like these have no bad side effects and they're far cheaper. Follow the money, folks! Drug companies win, we lose. Dr. Brantley looks very healthy and I loved seeing his segment with Rachel Ray right on this page. Hope HuffPost shows more videos like this.
