SNL new "Weekend Update" anchor and remarkably-dimpled Seth Meyers shares a story about NBC Nightly News anchor (and SNL season-opener almost-anchor) Brian Williams today in the Chicago Tribune:
"I was thrilled to get him on the first show because I know him to be one of the funniest guys in the building," Meyers says. "I once walked by him wearing a chicken suit, and he waited until I was almost past him and then whispered, 'Living the dream.'"
(That sound you hear is CBS slamming the drawer on their secret ratings-boosting "Katie Couric Delivers The News In A Chicken Suit" campaign.)
Meyers also notes that in his new role as newsman and SNL head writer, he's learned a little something about TV news: "It's amazing how if you watch an hour of CNN, you hear every news story five times. You catch up pretty fast." He doesn't mention the chyron; with that you can read every news story five times, too!
