In the latest in a series of drive-by reality TV spoilings, California foodie blog Eater LA brings word that the winner of Bravo reality series "Top Chef" was leaked this afternoon, more than two days before the season finale. The show, in which fifteen contestants are pitted against each other in trials of culinary prowess, has been a hit in its second season and planned to reveal the Top Chef in a grand final battle on Wednesday evening. The trouble came when an in-depth interview with the winner (we don't want any residual guilt from reality TV-spoiling on our conscience, so you'll have to follow the link to see who it is) appeared between 3:00 and 3:15 PM on the Food & Wine website, apparently the result of an accident. Before the article could be removed, it was spotted, copied and posted for all the Internet to peruse (ironic considering how often magazine stories are scooped by TV). The F&W feature is part of the total prize package offered to the winner, along with a cash prize of $100,000 and an appearance at the Food & Wine classic in Aspen. Ah well, too bad that poached snails, peanuts and American cheese appetizer won't look quite as scrumptious on Wednesday night.
