Newscorp scion Rupert Murdoch is dividing his fortune, giving each of his six children $100 million worth of News Corp stock, answering the oft-wondered question of how the 75-year-old mogul planned to distribute his wealth between his children, or more specifically between the older children Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan and James and his younger children by his current wife Wendi Deng, little Chloe and Grace. It is the biggest distribution thus far of his far-flung fortune, worth billions of dollars. Per the FT:
In regulatory filings on Friday, the Murdoch Family Trust said it had distributed just over 26m News Corp A shares, which do not have voting rights, worth just over $600m at Friday's share price. The filings show that Lachlan Murdoch, Mr Murdoch's eldest son, received a sixth of the shares. Rupert Murdoch received two-sixths on behalf of his young daughters, Chloe and Grace, by his wife Wendi.
A News Corp spokesman confirmed that his other children - Prudence, James and Elisabeth - had received the same share, although these were not specifically disclosed.
