- LA Times has another suitor! Chicago real estate biggie Sam Zell has made a "complicated proposal" to buy the paper from Tribune. We hope that's not the same thing as an 'indecent proposal' like in that Demi Moore movie. [LAT]
- Edwards campaign fires two bloggers. After pressure from Michelle Malkin, Kathryn Jean Lopez, the Catholic League and others, Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan were fired due to purportedly offensive posts they made on other blogs. [Salon] (UPDATE: Apparently not fired, despite reports everywhere.)
- James Wolcott accuses Adam Gopnik of being "smug" in a TNR review of his new book. He also takes the opportunity to trash Francine Prose ("humorless") and Malcolm Gladwell ("a slickster trickster"). And, uh, Walter Kirn and Paul Auster. Guess Dale Peck was busy. [Gawker]
