CNN, the Most Trusted Name In News, today had the dude who played Lisa Bonet's military husband whom she secretly married in Africa on to explain why he supported the right of General Peter Pace to say that gays in the military were a bad idea. Joseph C. Phillips, who played the role of Martin Kendall on NBC's popular "The Cosby Show" and who is now an author, columnist, recipe-sharer and political commentator, joined CNN's Paula Zahn tonight to defend General Pace's comments on First Amendment grounds. That's all; we actually had no clue who he was but HuffPo stalwarts Amanda Dobbins and Henry Seltzer (né Henry the Intern) both got very excited when he was on and started pointing at the screen and reminiscing about that time Denise brought him home from Africa. Talk soon turned to "Saved By The Bell," and that time Jessie Spano did caffeine pills so she could perform in a talent showcase and pass her geometry test so she could get into Stanford, but instead sang the first few bars of "I'm So Excited" and then burst into tears. She tells Anderson Cooper her views on Iraq at 10.
