Every detail about each successive Harry Potter book is eagerly lapped up by fans and media and guys who secretly wonder when, exactly, it starts being okay to think Emma Watson's hot — but at no time has interest been more fervent than now, because every revelation is the last of it's kind, since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (pre-order it today!) is the final book in the series. Which is why the release of the final cover — three versions, one British (see below, by Jason Cockroft), one U.S. (above left, by Mary GrandPre) and the adult "I Can't Believe It's Harry Potter!" version, featuring what looks like a mystical Slytherin talisman. Maybe it has the power to bring Dumbledore back!* Featured on the Brit fold -out: A shimmery stag, which indicates that Harry will see some family issues finally resolved (recall that his Patronus was the same as his father's, a — wait for it —
shimmery stag). Meanwhile, according to the Guardian via Galleycat the U.S. fold-out "features an image of Voldemort's glowing red eyes peering out from beneath his hood." Uh, oh. That can't be good, though it's hard to be scared of Voldemort when you can't help but imagine him getting it on with a stewardess at 30,000 feet. At any rate, this is totally news, particularly since so many readers are unhealthily invested in what will happen next. Be careful, Harry! Don't trust Snape! Er, something like that.
*Hear me now and make fun of me later: He's totally coming back, in some form: (a) His death was weird - it was not your typical avada kevadra death, like Cedric, and (b) who remembers his work with Nicholas Flamel from Book One? Dumbledore will be back. He will be.
