How much would it cost if I had to fly from Port Harcourt to Geneva on Monday, and then back to Abuja on Tuesday, and then to New York on Wednesday, and back to Port Harcourt on Thursday...? Quite a fortune right?
But I did just that this week with Zero naira, zero kobo when:
I strolled with Ms. Margareta Wahlstrom, Senior Representative of the Secretary General on Disaster Risk Reduction, on Monday. Ms Wahlstrom joined me from Geneva by 7:15am (Nig time) that morning. We discussed how disaster risk can be put into perspective in the actualization of the SDGs -> http://bit.ly/1LrROBv
On Tuesday by 7pm (Nig Time) I spoke with Nkem Azinge on her Mandela-Washington Fellowship experience, and the work she, her sister, and the SCAF team is doing to combat sickle cell in Nigeria -> http://bit.ly/1NYgh3p
My guest on Wednesday was Noella Richard, UNDP Youth Specialist and co-chair, UN Inter-Agency Network on Youth Development. She joined me from New York by 6:30pm (Nigerian Time), and we discussed events lined up for this year's #UNGA and how youths can be involved in the achievement of the SDGs → http://bit.ly/1iPLUiG
Once upon a time, this "magic" would not even be possible in traditional journalism, but today it is and in the next few years this article will be not even mean anything because the internet and technology will open up more worlds of possibilities left for people to jump on.
In the meantime, I guess the question is how can you leverage on the internet to create "magic" in your field or career?
