Janet is the James Beard award-winning weekly cheese columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle and the author of over 20 cookbooks including Cheese & Wine: A Guide to Selecting, Pairing and Enjoying and The Cheese Course.
Janet first discovered farmers' markets and the pleasures of the table while a student in France. After college, she attended the Culinary Institute of America and spent two years in the kitchen at Chez Panisse further honing her skills and a deep appreciation for extraordinary ingredients. Today, Janet lives in the Napa Valley with her winemaker husband.
Janet offers her general rules of thumb when pairing wine and cheese, and shares her opinions on the varietals of wines that pair best with different styles of cheeses. We also hear about some of her favorite cheese shops around the world.
