Edie is Associate Editor of Spectator Business magazine and Executive Editor for Hub Culture. She is also the Director of Intelligence Squared Festivals and recently held the Intelligence Squared Green Festival on Climate Change in London which drew over a thousand people to a day’s discussion and debate on the challenges of and solutions to Climate Change.

Edie has worked for BBC4, The World Service, The Spectator, Investors Chronicle and The Week magazines. She was the economics and political correspondent for Bloomberg Television and regularly interviewed senior figures from finance and politics. She covered international political and economic events for Bloomberg such as IMF/World Bank meetings, European Union Summits and OPEC meetings.

Previously she was a political analyst for Investment Bank UBS with a focus on the nexus between politics and economics in G-7 and emerging markets. She researched, wrote and marketed updates on political events in UK, Europe and emerging markets that could affect the bond and currency markets. Before moving to London she was a political analyst for hedge fund Omega Advisors specialising in European Monetary Union and European politics. She worked as a speechwriter and international relations specialist for the Secretary General of the Organisation of American States in Washington, D.C. She has also worked for political party Alliance of Free Democrats in Hungary, PR supremos Robinson Lake Sawyer Miller and organized the London:Paris festival that celebrated everything that unites and divides Britain and France. It drew a crowd of over 5,000 people to two and a half days of Anglo-French-inspired debates, conversations, music, food and drink.

Edie holds a Bachelor of Arts cum laude in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Yale University. She is a dual UK-US citizen, mother to three children and is a keen cook, ski-tourer and runner.
