Greece.

Lately whoever talks about Greece has in mind its financial crisis, the spending cuts or even the fiscal programs.

Maybe it's high time we went back and remember the real meaning of the country and the values that were born in Greece.

The Athens Classic Marathon is the best opportunity for everybody to follow Greek history.

In 2012, Greece will celebrate its 30th Athens Classic Marathon. More than 26,000 runners, athletes and everyday people will join the 5-kilometer, 10-kilometer and 42-kilometer races on November 11th.

Among the runners will be the famous British actress Kiera Chaplin, the great filmaker Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter.

This is not the first time that celebrities have joined the Athens Classic Marathon. In the past, the well-known Greek-American journalist-presenter Maria Manounos has participated in the 5k race, as well as Nikos Aliagas, one of the most important Greeks, who lives in Paris and has had an exceptional career as a journalist and presenter.

Despite financial difficulties, people from all over the world will travel in Athens to participate in this major event. They will travel to know more on this historic race that has been under the aegis of UNESCO for second year.

Makis Asimakopoulos, the marathon's coordinator ,invites everybody in Athens to promote a positive image of the country. On the other hand, he added that the marathon can also boost the Greek economy.

The "Marathon for Greece" promotes the spirit of unity and hope. Be there.
