Note to Team Obama: Forget the Change mantra. Forget the anti-Bush mantra. For heaven sake's, forget metaphors. (No longer part of the curriculum in our schools, except about sports.) Now that Rove has picked Palin to run the show, we're playing on quicksand. We're playing on thin ice. This is now a campaign about Republicans dirty tricks and not much else. But how to fight that?
If Obama hammers on the idea of dirty tricks, he can avoid saying or not saying that McCain and Palin are liars. He needs a series of hard-hitting ads from now until election day about the dirty tricks engineered by Karl Rove. Everyone understands that. And no one thinks Rove is a prince. Ads that say: "Karl Rove used to be called 'Bush's Brain,' because he told him what to say and do and how to convince you there were WMDs in Iraq, which there were not. Now he's John McCain's brain. But he's still up to the same old dirty tricks. In fact, that's all his campaign is up to these days. Are you going to be fooled again?"
If you don't think the Obama campaign needs this - and more - take a look at the new "Palin Truth Squad" whose members spring to action whenever Obama or Biden opens his mouth. Looks like Rove's fingerprints all over it.

As a Tennessean, I know the popularity of the Republican party machine agent Marcia Blackburn, her articles are already appearing in our newspapers. There is definetly a culture war going on in the south, and it isn't pretty. All of the code words are being used, and spread by the media. It seems almost an insurmountable task in my state, since the mindset is so entrenched. However, there are over 35% percent of us who haven't been brainwashed by their message which plays on the aforementioned culture wars..We do what we can with our letters to the editor and many students are trying to GOTV. Tough job..thanks for printing the list. All I can do is continue to try to reverse the negativity by telling the truth.
Remember when McCain angrily shouted at his wife in front of his friends and called her a "c***"? Well, here's McCain shoving a little old war widow in a wheelchair:

Why, oh why, hasn't this story broken yet? This directly attacks McCain's supposed strength, namely, his honor and his character. And it has the virtue of actually being true!
Why all the reticence to bring up damaging information that's true? Why don't they do to McCain what Biden says you ought to do to any lying bully---bloody his nose!

Four years later, at [a POW/MIA] group's Washington conference, about 25 members went to a Senate office building, hoping to meet with McCain. As they stood in the hall, McCain and an aide walked by.
Six people present have written statements describing what they saw. According to the accounts, McCain waved his hand to shoo away Jeannette Jenkins, whose cousin was last seen in South Vietnam in 1970, causing her to hit a wall.
As McCain continued walking, Jane Duke Gaylor, the mother of another missing serviceman, approached the senator. Gaylor, in a wheelchair equipped with portable oxygen, stretched her arms toward McCain.
"McCain stopped, glared at her, raised his left arm ready to strike her, composed himself and pushed the wheelchair away from him," according to Eleanor Apodaca, the sister of an Air Force captain missing since 1967.
McCain's staff wouldn't respond to requests for comment about specific incidents.
