On the Santa Barbara coast, fall brings bright colors and temperate, clear days with beautiful, lingering sunsets. El Capitan Canyon resort is a 20 miles north of Santa Barbara and located in a seaside pocket on the picturesque Pacific coast. The nature lodging experience at El Capitan Canyon was created for those who have the desire to completely disconnect.

Guests stay in camp-like lodgings of cabins and safari tents but with the services and amenities typically found in a traditional resort. How about some family "glamping?

El Capitan is offering a "Fireside Dinner Package" that is perfect for enjoying an evening under the stars with loved ones. This one-night stay for four people includes a Barbeque Kit with all the ingredients to cook a fireside dinner, from the pre-marinated entrée (tri-tip, salmon, chicken, hamburgers or hot dogs) and sides to the cooking and eating utensils, along with the popular Canyon S'mores Kit for dessert. Packages are available in El Capitan Canyon's safari tents or cedar cabins, and rates start at $190 for four, plus tax. Additional nights may be added.

Onsite activities include: yoga, story-telling, Saturday night barbecues stargazing, etc. Or, perhaps perfect the art of doing absolutely nothing at all but getting lost in a great novel, lounge by the heated swimming pool or indulge in a massage treatment.

All packages are valid through Nov. 22.
