Pakistan was supposed to experience a new political period in coming January after the parliamentary election and participation of Benazir Bhutto, however before a period of change could ever take place, it comes to an end due to Benazir Bhutto's assassination.

Benazir Bhutto's ruling earned great popularity after Nawaz Sharif's corrupt government followed by Pervez Musharraf's military regime. She has been a secular body in Pakistan's recent history.

The beginning of winter has not been a favorable season for Pakistan politics and government. It faces ups and downs from all sides, the government, and the terrorist groups, such as the departure of Nawaz Sharif, the impostion of emergency rule, increased insurgencies in the North West Frontier of Pakistan followed by two attempts of assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

The assassination exploded the riot in different cities of Pakistan which lead to sitting on fire police cars, shops and looting of banks. Most of the business owners closed their business in many cities to avoid loses. The country currently waits on an announced emergency situation and will need to wait until people's anger calms down, however the longer the anger the worse will be the situation will be.

Pakistan's internal instability is not only unfavorable to the country, but also critical to the neighboring country Afghanistan. One of the direct effects of Pakistan's internal instability will be sensed in Afghanistan.

Pakistan and Afghanistan have not shared good neighboring relations in past 50 years, however in the recent decade Afghanistan has thoroughly depended on consumption goods from Pakistan. Any sort of bottleneck of imported goods will end up causing a central part of Afghanistan in starvation.

During the emergency period in Pakistan which was started in November 3 and ended in December 15, Afghanistan experienced great food shortage which lead to direct and undiplomatic speeches of Afghanistan's commerce minister who put conditions on releasing Pakistani goods to pass to Central Asia, if Pakistan would let the food to get to Afghanistan.

Therefore Afghanistan wanted or unwanted depends on Pakistans goods and any sort of instability will harm Afghans particularly in winter season where the Afghan agriculture sector completely stops.
