During the holiday season, it's easy to get carried away with the hustle and bustle of holiday gatherings, and shopping for gifts for loved ones. In a month where the holiday season has also been marked by uncertainty and national tragedy, we at the Case Foundation believe that it is important that we pause during this time to notice the good that is happening all around us.
Whether it's students from a local elementary school donating to Meals on Wheels, your colleagues wrapping gifts and toys for disadvantaged families, neighbors helping each other after a storm devastates a home in their community, your family rallying together for a volunteer outing, or simply a friend offering a stranger a hand in carrying their groceries to the car, there are countless acts of good shared that are happening unnoticed and uncelebrated every day.
This year, we want to make sure those acts of good -- large and small -- get noticed and celebrated. That is why, for the second holiday season in a row, the Case Foundation has launched the #GoodSpotting campaign, asking all of you to spot, share and do good this holiday season. We are collecting those stories of good from across the web and sharing them through our #GoodSpotting platform.
Along with our partners, including Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation, MTV Act, Huffington Post Impact, TOMS, and many others, we're so inspired by the more than 1,500 acts of good that have already been shared via #GoodSpotting this holiday season.
The ask is simple -- when you see something good, share it with us! Take a picture, record a video, or share a link for something you saw online, and share it... on the Foundation's Facebook page or Twitter using the hashtag #GoodSpotting. Then visit GoodSpotting.org to see your entry and other acts of good.
And, of course we want to do good ourselves, so the Case Foundation is giving away $25,000 in grants and prizes -- we'll be awarding four lucky people who share their #GoodSpotting stories with us by giving $5,000 to their charity of choice (and they will also receive $500 in holiday spending cash)!
