I've made butternut squash gnocchi before, and loved it. The pumpkin would be just as good. The pumpkin caramel bacon bars sound interesting, too.

Hi Karee. I've been away for a while, but I came back today. Miss me?

These look yummy.. especially the cheesecake.

Oh, and in case you didn't know.. pumpkins are squash. Zucchini is the same species as sugar pie pumpkins. If you let Zucchini grow the whole season and "over" ripen you'll end up with something not too much different.

there's a farmer's market / pumpkin patch / family farm outside of Toronto (north of Brampton, if you're familiar with the area) that has the BEST pumpkin donuts in the fall. I would drive the very long way into the city just to stop by and get some when I lived up there

I'll take pumpkin pie, please. I've eaten and liked pumpkin bread, and pumpkin ice cream, but I'll stick with the pie, thanks very much.

If you can find them at your farmer's market, crookneck pumpkins are best for cooking.

This slideshow should be called "10 Ways to Cook Canned Pumpkin Puree." I mean, I cook with the canned stuff sometimes, don't get me wrong. But only one of these recipes calls for an actual pumpkin. I thought the list was going to get really creative and use the unprocessed version. ...Disappointment.

My dog's favorite pumpkin recipe: Buy orange size pumpkins. Cut in half, scoop out seeds (the birds and squirrels like them), pile a bunch of them in a casserole dish w/a little water, cook until soft (about six minutes in micro), let cool, scoop pumpkin into dog's dish accompanied by cooked broccoli heads, a little kibble and a tiny slice of no by-products canned food.

They love it and it's good for them. My bigger dog loves to chew on the pumpkin skins.

Pumpkin risotto. Takes a lot of time and stirring. Make sure you have access to a bottle of wine to accompany you.

Not really, if you'd like I can post it when I get home from work tonite. I never understood the idea of keeping food recipes a secret. I am more than willing to share, I'll even post the way I mix, and the order I mix. I feel as though sharing would be better than keeping it for myself.

Don't try this with Republicans or you'll find everything but a hot stove missing from your kitchen. There is good authority that most republicans won't steal a stove if it's hot.
