Having the kids go back to school is a mixed bag of emotions for parents ― there’s the stress of back-to-school shopping, the chaos of getting the kids ready and out the door in the morning and the excitement at finally having a moment of peace since school let out for summer.
Luckily, amid all of feelings, some hilarious parents tweet about the rollercoaster that is getting the kids back to school. Check out the tweets below for a quick glimpse of all of the emotions, and good luck!

Lesson#1: I am not a morning person.
The end.
"Getting the kids ready for school in the morning without losing your mind" isn't an Olympic event, but I think I deserve a medal (or a nap)

My kids started 3rd grade and Middle School today, so I'm pretty emotional right now.

("Totally f*cking thrilled" is an emotion, right?)
In the fifth realm of hell right now...or as you may know it, the school parking lot on the first day. #parenting

My kids don't seem to be as excited as me for the "Back to School Countdown" calendar I created.

It's that point during summer where parents are starting to look how teachers looked at the end of the school year.

Kiddo pulled the covers over her head for the 1st time when I hit the lights to wake her up for school.
It was satisfying.
Me: *buys a year's worth of snacks* OK kids, remember, these are for school.
— Lurk @ Home Mom (@LurkAtHomeMom) September 3, 2015
Kids: *have already eaten all the snacks*
Me(motivational voice):Ok guys, who's ready to go back to school?!
— Domestic Goddess (@DomesticGoddss) August 22, 2016
*Everyone starts crying*
Well that didn't go well at all.

Back to School shopping, a.k.a: "How can you have outgrown EVERYTHING you wore last year? You mean I have to buy you a whole new wardrobe??"

My wife was on the second page of the lunch note to our kindergartner when I reminded her she couldn't really read.

Just caught someone trying to steal my kid's school supplies out of our cart at Target. Lady don't even think of taking my $2 plastic ruler.

Me: what do you write on?
7: iPad
M: what kind of calculator do you need?
7: iPad
M: wtf are we doing here?
7: idk
You know it's Back to School time when moms alone at Target are high-fiving when they pass each other in the aisles.

Me: School starts in a few weeks.

6-year-old: Tell them I'm busy.
Damn. I didn't know that was an option.
Tuesday: Day 1 of school, preschool, and back to work.

Wednesday: Home with two sick kids.
Classic.
Is it bad that I use an advent calendar to countdown the days until school starts? Each day is a different tiny bottle of liquor. #Parenting

Practicing for the first day of school by muttering "we're late," throwing cereal on the floor & making sure every outfit is the wrong one.

Tried to drop my 3rd grader off for 1st day of school. Turns out school starts next Tues. So I'm pretty much killing parenting as per usual.

So the 7 yo told me that she woke up at 3:46 a.m. because she was so excited for school. Good luck to her teachers come about 9:30 a.m.
