A Bruce Springsteen Superfan Wrote An Epic Late Note For His Daughter

It WAS Bruce Springsteen after all.

A New York dad recently wrote one of the most entertainingly honest tardy notes to ever exist to excuse his daughter for being late to school.

Patrick Pipino posted the tardy note on Facebook, explaining how Bruce Springsteen was behind her late arrival to school.

"In the interest of honesty, I feel it my obligation to be straight with all of you as to the reason," the dad wrote. "Last night Isabelle was lucky enough to see Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band in Albany, and darned if he didn't play for three and a half hours."

Indeed, Springsteen and the E Street Band did play at the Times Union Center in Albany on February 8 -- the night before the dad's dated letter.

And while the dad noted that the concert "may not seem like a good excuse" to be late to school, he told local ABC News10 that the note was meant to be funny.

“The school office staff thought it was funny, and they thought the letter was honest," Pipino said according to News10.

As for the concert, it was a "big deal" to his daughters (who each got a personalized late note), who have been Springsteen fans since they were born. He continued, "It was a good time, they had a ball at the show. It was one of the best Springsteen shows I have ever seen."

Other parents on Facebook who took their kids to see Springsteen that night shared the dad's sentiments.

"Patrick Pipino - took my 6th grade son last night too and was late for school today," one commenter wrote. "He not only got to see one of the world's greatest entertainers but saw his mom and dad dancing, singing and having a great time together. Experiences you don't get at school. And he proudly wore his new Bruce T-shirt to school."

Well, that's an honest note, dad!
