Ali Forney Center's 'Shred Of Hope' T-Shirt Auction Features Designs By Adam Lambert, Andy Cohen And More

LOOK: Dustin Lance Black, Adam Lambert And Others Get Creative For Homeless LGBT Youth

New York's Ali Forney Center (AFC), who provides housing for homeless and runaway lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth has recently collaborated with Nasty Pig, a menswear line and an array of celebrities and activists to create "Shred Of Hope."

"Shred of Hope" is an exclusive batch of shredded t-shirts that are designed by celebrities, to be auctioned off with proceeds going to the AFC.

Noteworthy supporters of the LGBT community participated in the project, such as fashion designer and model Isis King, Adam Lambert, author and journalist Keith Boykin, award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, Ally Sheedy, actor Alan Cumming, Bravo TV's Andy Cohen, celebrity photographer Mike Ruiz and more.

The auction takes place June 20-27 online. Nasty Pig and AFC will also host a launch party for "Shred of Hope" on June 20 at New York's Rootstein Gallery.

"Shred of Hope" participants said they were glad to be a part of the project.

“When I learned that 40 percent of all homeless youth are LGBTQ, I was shocked. These kids are among the most vulnerable members of our community and they need our help," said Cohen, in a press release sent to HuffPost Gay Voices. "I am glad to have the opportunity to help spread awareness of this ongoing tragedy and raise money for Ali Forney Center, who are doing such good work to get these kids back on their feet.”

Sheedy, who has a queer daughter, said that the issues of LGBTQ homeless teens are "close to her heart."

"I'm committed to doing anything I can with the Ali Forney Center in order to ease the lives of these valuable but abandoned young people in our community," she added.

Homeless LGBT youth represent 40 percent of those who are out on the streets. Back in January, HuffPost Live invited advocates and teens affected by the unfortunate issue to discuss the problems that they face.
