Alicia Keys Celebrates Her Blended Family In New Music Video

Alicia Keys is celebrating the joys of step-parenting with her latest music video, “Blended Family (What You Do For Love).”

The three-minute-plus clip, which features rapper A$AP Rocky, highlights Keys’ relationship with husband Swizz Beatz and their sons Egypt and Genesis, as well as his sons Prince Nasir, Kasseem with Beatz’s ex-wife R&B singer Mashonda, who’s also in the video.

Keys and Mashonda haven’t always had the best relationship, but Mashonda told Essence magazine in October that she” let go of those feelings” towards Keys to focus on a healthy relationship between the adults and children.

As for Keys, the song is a powerful testimony about healing with loved ones.

“I’m so excited for you to hear this song. The understanding, compassion and support we’ve found is a powerful testament to the healing that comes when we choose love,” Keys said in a statement posted on her website. “Especially for the kids… the most important part of our lives. Celebrating Mashonda for our commitment to each other with support and true growth.”
