Internet trolls existed long before Amy Schumer stepped onto the scene, but few public figures have attracted as much online hate as the comedian. Don’t believe us? Look no further than the countless fake one-star ratings for her memoir or the comments on her social media accounts.

Following the release of “Amy Schumer: The Leather Special,” which premiered on Netflix earlier this month, the “Trainwreck” actress is hitting back at trolls who have nothing better to do than coordinate online attacks against people who dare to make us — gasp — laugh.

According to an Instagram post from the comedian, “alt-right Redditors” have been spamming the streaming service with negative reviews for the special in attempt to sabotage Schumer’s career. This time, however, Schumer is taking a different approach to combatting the worst the internet has to offer: thanking them.

“The alt right organized trolls attack everything I do,” she wrote in the lengthy caption on Instagram, underneath a screenshot of Splitsider article about the trolls’ attack. “They organize to get my ratings down. Meeting in sub Reddit rooms. They tried on my book and movies and tv show And I want to thank them. It makes me feel so powerful and dangerous and brave. It reminds me what I’m saying is effective and bring more interest to my work and their obsession with me keeps me going.”

“Call me a whale. Call me a thief and I will continue to rise and fight and lead,” she continued. “I know who I am. I am strong and beautiful and will use my voice my whole time on this earth.”
