Brittany Hill Allegedly Tries To Sell Baby In Newspaper Classified Ad

Mom Tried To Sell 4-Month-Old Baby In Newspaper Ad: Cops

A Texas mom is accused of trying to sell her 4-month-old baby in a newspaper classified ad.

Cops arrested Brittany Hill, 26, on Friday after a woman who thought about buying the newborn boy decided to call authorities instead, NBC-DFW reported.

The tipster told Dallas police that the ad listed the boy for $4,000. She said she was going to buy him but got cold feet.

The same day, managers at Hill's apartment complex entered her home to collect back rent. They reportedly found the baby alone in his crib. Hill was gone.

When she returned, cops were waiting inside and arrested her on a charge of child abandonment. They found an empty car seat in the back of her Honda.

"I saw her when she was pregnant, and she just seemed to be very depressed, always alone sitting on the stairway," neighbor Latonia Smith said.

The boy is now in the custody of Child Protective Services, according to The Weekly Vice. It's yet unclear what newspaper he was listed in.
