Above, a living room by Frances Merrill of Reath Design draws on the power of orange to draw the eye to a fantastic sofa, as seen in MyDomaine.Whether muted or neon, orange is a color that’s immediately noticed in any room. Such intensity makes this hue a surefire discussion-starter in any group of design lovers — and we haven’t yet found a person who has a neutral opinion about orange. Of course, we’re huge fans of the color, specifically for the energizing effect it has on decor. From persimmon to citrus, here are just a few of our favorite orange-hued pieces currently for sale at Viyet:

Why we love it: Charles Hollis Jones is the master of acrylic, crafting exceptional pieces that withstand time and trends. Here, the clear form of these armless chairs is punctuated by a brilliant orange cushion.

Why we love it: This completely-upholstered loveseat puts the emphasis on shape, right down to the monochromatic piping that outlines virtually each part. The vibrant fabric makes this piece a head-turner in any room, so pair it with more neutral pieces that won’t distract.

Why we love it: Orange takes a lantern from traditional to daring. The yellow bell details and accents also help to draw the eye around the whimsical shape of the lantern.

Why we love them: Vintage ivory lacquered nightstands make a bigger impression with a pop of intense orange. Dating back to the 1950s, this set would go perfectly with other midcentury pieces (particularly as a contrast to straight-lined Danish teak headboard) but also can work with bedroom furniture and accessories that go in a more modern direction, especially those that are upholstered.

Why we love it: Leather tufted chairs are a classic, but all it takes is an unexpected choice in color to make the design seem fresh. This accent chair is upholstered in a persimmon leather that would be especially gorgeous when placed in a room with navy walls. The antiqued brass frame also complements the rich hue while also defining the shape.

Why we love it: This rug goes bold in a big way, with a brightly-colored static striped pattern in red, emerald, orange, black, tan, and sky blue. As a result, this vintage rug is a bit like adding a large-scaled art piece to a room.

Why we love it: A true masterpiece, this rare lithograph features one of Andy Warhol’s most iconic creations. Yes, we love Warhol’s use of color here, particularly the way the orange leaps from the powder blue background. But we are also intrigued by the piece’s provenance: It comes to Viyet from the collection of Million Dollar Listing LA’s Josh Flagg.
